BLACK BARREL SERIES
The Black Barrel Series stands alongside our Wild Barrel Series as a testament to our dedication to finely-aged craft beers. Before going into their hand-selected barrels, the base beers are carefully crafted with ingredients intended to support the desired natural aromatics of the final product. In their initial form, these beers already have a fairly high alcohol content, intense malt flavors, and velvety bodies, bordering on the texture of an extremely sippable liqueur.
Time, and a careful selection of aging vessels, results in a well-rounded, layered, and incredibly pleasurable drinking experience in every sip, and notably showcases the beautiful subtleties in taste and aroma that come as a result of the aging process. Much like our Wild Barrel Series, these beers are ideal for cellaring, preferably for up to 5 years (though some may indeed last longer under optimum conditions), and as such, we recommend that serious beer fans consider purchasing multiple bottles for their home collections.
We release our Black Barrel Series beers as they reach maturation, and you can find the most up-to-date selection in our online pickup store. These beers are extremely popular at various craft beer bars and restaurants throughout all of Finland. Be sure to ask the staff at your favorite establishment if our beers are available!

BBA barley wine

Inspired by the heavily malt-driven flavors of north- ern England, Bleeding is our latest boozy behe- moth of a barleywine – aged in bourbon barrels and conditioned on locally-sourced honey, for a well-rounded mouthfeel and a massive, nuanced array of flavors in every sip! Despite clocking in at a reality-altering 11%, this beer delivers a smooth, dry finish that makes it an all-too-perfect sipper for the dread and darkness of the Finnish winter!

BBA imperial stout
12.0% ABV
A potent, jet-black imperial stout, that has spent many months patiently slumbering in bourbon barrels. This fearsome liquid entity carves a path through the olfactory senses with devastatingly powerful notes of vanilla, cacao, caramel and espresso. These flflavors come strictly from the malt grist of the beer and the residual spirit leached from the wood of the barrels - no fancy adjuncts requi- red. Pure, unadulterated, sinfully-delicious darkness.

Fortified Barley Wine
12.0% ABV
The Swarming, 12.0% - A decadent, high-octane blend of barleywine, that we aged for a full year in cognac barrels, with an intense braggot, that has dutifully laid dormant in bourbon barrels for a whopping 22 months. Rich malts and intense honey are rounded out by the considerable time the beer has spent in barrels, and the palate of the drinker is further tantalized by notes of oak and boozy warmth. By far, one of our most ambitious (and delicious) Black Barrels beers to date!

Remains, 11.0% - Our small offering to the angels - what remains is forever enshrined in these bottles. Aged for eight months in cognac barrels, this barleywine has developed a truly unique flavor, while retaining all the best elements of its natural character. “Remains” possesses rich, inviting aromas that open the olfactory portal to smooth notes of dried fruit and toffee-like sweetness, while giving way to a dry, brandy-like finish, courtesy of the barrels.

BBA oatmeal milk stout
12.0% ABV
Cadaver, 12.0% - The result of long-term barrel-aging, with a violently high ABV. Fear not, however - this beer is a truly deceptive and indulgent experience. The malty, liqueur-like body seamlessly combines a dense, coffee-like roastiness with subtle notes of chocolate and a kiss of booze from the bourbon barrels. The silky mouthfeel is rounded out by the generous amount of oats, a healthy dose of lactose, and the considerable aging time in the barrels. A special treat, best sipped and savored by true dark beer lovers!

Macabre, 12.0% - A blend of two hand-selected imperial stouts, this black monster is the result of serious, long-term aging in bourbon barrels (10 months and 20 months, respectively). To create an even more special and decadent drinking experience, the beer was further conditioned on cocoa nibs, pecans, and hazelnuts, resulting in a rich, nutty softness and fruitiness, together with a sweet, liqueur-like mouthfeel. The darkest of desserts, for the most daring of consumers!
M O R B I D
BBA imperial stout

Morbid, 12.0% - Arguably the most accessible of our current Black Barrel selection, this dark devil was birthed by painstakingly blending two perfectly matured bourbon-barrel-aged imperial stouts (aged 10 and 20 months, respectively). The beer delivers an obscenely smooth and roasty mouthfeel, courtesy of madagascar vanilla beans and dark-roast coffee, which further amplify the natural flavors and aromas from the malts and the bourbon barrels. Certain to appeal to serious BBA stout fans! Make sure you don’t miss out on it!
